Our Story

Our
Story
True Visions Community Church, founded and inspired by God, has been faithfully serving the Decatur, Georgia community since January 2013. Led by Pastor Stephen Howard, who is on a mission to save a billion souls, the church has become a pillar of faith and outreach in the community. For the past eight years, we have operated from our current location at 1242 Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA, following three years at our former home at 1781 Columbia Drive. Throughout our journey, we have consistently cultivated a devoted and visionary community of loving, purpose-driven members.
Our core mission has always been to serve and uplift the community through impactful outreach programs. These efforts include the distribution of food and clothing, along with financial assistance for families and individuals in need. We are committed to addressing both the immediate and long-term needs of our neighbors with compassion, consistency, and care.
Over the past four years, our mission has expanded through a strong partnership with Choose Healthy Life and United Way. Through this collaboration, we have provided healthcare screenings for 28 critical health conditions that disproportionately affect our community. These screenings have become a cornerstone of our outreach, ensuring that our members and neighbors have access to preventive care and life-saving health education.
True Visions Community Church is more than just a place of worship—we are the community. We remain deeply committed to being a source of hope, healing, and empowerment. Our foundation is built on the principles of faith, love, second chances, and deliverance—without judgment—through the transformative power of God’s Word. Our integrity and dedication to service continue to guide every effort we undertake.
In 2016, we expanded our outreach by launching our nonprofit initiative, originally named Mama’s House, which was renamed “It’s At Mama’s House” in 2023. This vital organization focuses on eradicating domestic violence, substance abuse, food insecurity, and homelessness. Under the leadership of Latasha Howard, the program has provided critical support and safe spaces for countless individuals in crisis.
In addition to her work with Mama’s House, Latasha Howard played a pivotal role in advocating for victims’ rights across the state of Georgia. Partnering with Marcy’s Law, she worked closely with lawmakers and community leaders, both at the Georgia State Capitol and statewide, to ensure the passage of legislation that protects victims. In 2019, those efforts culminated in the successful adoption of Marcy’s Law, which guarantees stronger legal protections and advocacy for victims throughout the state.
Together, True Visions Community Church and It’s At Mama’s House represent a powerful, faith-driven force for change—committed to transforming lives, restoring dignity, and building a healthier, more compassionate community.
